Trip to Rome

22:00:00

¡Buenas noches!

Good night! Last weekend, my boyfriend organized a weekend trip to celebrate my birthday. A week before I discovered that we would do a trip, but until the day before I didn't know where I would go. The destination was Rome.

Last Friday we got up early to catch the plane to Rome. We arrived at 3:30 p.m., we ate something quickly and we went to the hotel to leave the baggage and to start to discover this beautiful city.

Our first stop was the famous Piazza Spagna. Then, we went to Piazza Popolo and to see the amazing Fontana di Trevi. I had been in Rome some years before, but I have to say that this artwork is stunning and every time I see it, leaves me speechless.

After that, we went to Piazza Navona, but before we visited the Pantheon, another amazing artwork. How could they do this artwork almost 2.000 years ago? This temple has round form and one of the biggest domes and an eye where enters the light of the sun.

In the Piazza Navona, we could see the Bernini's fountain, but we couldn't visit the Borromini's church because it was closed. Since here, we went to Campo Fiori. And then, we decided to dinner near of the hotel, because the next day we had to get up early.

Saturday we had the visit to Vatican's Museums at 11 a.m. If you go to Rome, I recommend you to buy the entrances before you go, because the queues are very long. The visit took us 2 hours and a half. If you go, you can't miss: Sistine Chapel, sculpture of "Laocoonte and their children" and the painting "The school of Athens" of Rafael.

After visiting the Vatican's Museums, we decided to visit Saint Peter's Basilica. We had to do a hour and half queue to enter, but the waiting worths because it's stunning. In addition, we decided to go up to the dome, because the views of the city are amazing.

After visiting the Vatican, it was 4:30 p.m and we hadn't eaten, then we decided to eat something near. It was a very big mistake. The restaurant seemed very normal and we paid 95 euros for two plates of pasta, drink and coffee. We go out of there outraged.

As we were very tired, we went to the hotel to rest a while. Our initial idea was to go dinner to Piazza Navona, but finally we went to dinner near to the hotel in a trattoria that recommend us.

The next day, was our last day in Rome and we had to visit all the part of Ancient Rome. We got up early and we went directly to visit the Colosseum. We bought the tickets in the Palatino, because in the tickets of the Colosseum includes the Palatino and Roman Forum. We started visiting this part and after we went to the Colosseum.

What to tell of the Colosseum. It's amazing on the outside, but inside it's still more. It's one of the things that you must see one time in your life, because the words get short to explain it.

When we finished the visit to Colosseum, we went to eat something because it was 3 p.m. an our plane took off at 7 p.m. After that, we went to the hotel to picked up our baggages and our trip arrived to the end.

As I told you, I had been in Rome 3 years before and I liked so much, but this time I liked it more than the other. It's a very beautiful city and it has a lot of things to visit, in fact, we couldn't see it all. Rome steals your heart since the first minute.

I hope you like it the post of the day. Thanks for your visits and comments. I will see you next Sunday. Have a nice weekend!
